Recommendation

Approve the attached Resolution authorizing the City Manager declaring property \n \n be acquired by the City, and condemned to clear title for the purposes of urban \n \n renewal and development identified as Tax Map Parcel 007-011-005 a/k/a 2607 \n \n Riverside Drive, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia (see attached map).

Background

Numerous attempts have been made to clear title, therefore condemnation of this

property must be used to clear said title.The City must through eminent domain

proceedings clear title the property at 2607 Riverside Drive to assemble

properties for future development.

Analysis

The City will proceed to clear title through eminent domain to help assemble

properties in and around the surrounding residential area.

Financial Considerations

The City will pay all cost associated with said condemnation and transfer with

Community Development Block Grant funds.

Legal Considerations

Council must approve the condemnation.
