Background

American Way was constructed for access to the Northside High School and

Northside Recreation Center/Park. The street has been improved and meets the

required specifications for acceptance by the City.

Analysis

A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying American Way. "All that tract

or parcel of land situate, lying and being in Columbus, Muscogee, Georgia, and

comprising all of American Way, as said street is shown upon that certain map

or plat entitled "Muscogee County School District, American Way, Located in

Land Lot 269, 19th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia," dated August

26, 2002, recorded in Plat Book 148, page 16, in the Office of the Clerk of the

Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia, and to which map or plat reference

is hereby made for a more particular description of the street hereby

conveyed".

Financial Considerations

The street was constructed by partnership between the City and Muscogee

County School District. The City has assumed maintenance of the street.

Legal Considerations

In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all dedicated

right-of-ways must be accepted by written resolution of Council.

Approve the Resolution accepting the deed to American Way located in Land Lot

269, 19th District.
