Recommendation

That the Council approve the attached Resolution authorizing the purchase of \n \n property at 0 Garfield Drive a/k/a 114-022-013 for the construction of a radio \n \n transmission tower in Columbus, Georgia (see attached map).

Background

The property is needed for the construction of a radio transmission tower. The

current tower site is leased to the city. The new tower will be owned by the

city which may give us the option of leasing space to others which will off set

the cost of purchase and construction. The property needed for the tower is at

0 Garfield Drive a/k/a 114-022-013. The property was evaluated based upon

topography.

Analysis

The site has been preliminary approved by the Federal Aviation Administration

(FAA) pending soil testing.

Financial Considerations

The land will be sold for $6,000.00. The funding for the radio transmission is

0554 200 2441 7611CBA 4022120030.
