Approval is requested to declare 5.085 +/- acres of property located at 3060 \n \n Macon Road a/k/a 067 024 022A as surplus, and authorize the sale of said \n \n property (see attached map).

Background
The property has been owned by the City of Columbus for more than three years.

The property had previously been leased to Carmike Cinemas. The new Columbus

Library and old Sears property are in the surrounding area.
Analysis
The property consists of 5.085 +/- acres located on Macon Road a/k/a Tax Map

067 024 022A behind the new Columbus Library. Subject property is zoned NC,

Neighborhood Commercial District.
Financial Considerations
The appraised fair market value of the property is $1,247,000. The property

will be transferred by Quit Claim Deed.

Legal Considerations
Council must approve the sale of real estate and newspaper notices shall be

published in accordance with Columbus Charter Section 7-501.
Recommendations/ Actions
Approval is requested of the attached resolution declaring said property as

surplus and authorizing the sale of the above identified property.
