Approved
Background
Columbus State University (CSU) asked the City to look at making a portion of

Clearview Circle into a one-way operation several years ago. At each request,

the Engineering Department sent mail surveys to obtain responses from the few

remaining private property owners. Our last survey was in August 2001. To

date, CSU purchased all private properties along Clearview Circle except for

three lots. A drawing indicating proposed one-way operation is attached.
Analysis
CSU's request to make Clearview Circle a one-way operation has several benefits

to include improving egress from existing driveways around the circle,

providing many more angled parking spaces, making student/pedestrian crossing

safer and reduces the potential for accidents around the circle. The

Engineering Department recommends the enactment of this ordinance.
Financial Considerations
The cost to install one-way signage and restripe the pavement markings will be

thru the Traffic Engineering Division's operations budget.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement
Legal Considerations
Amending City Code Section 20-7.2 requires Council approval.
Recommendations/ Actions
Approve Clearview Circle for one-way traffic operation.
