Approval is requested to submit an application and if approved accept a Local \n \n Law Enforcement Block Grant for $81,658 from the Bureau of Justice \n \n Administration with a 10% local match.

Background
This is a continuation of the grant program which the Council has approved for

the past seven years. On August 30, 2004, the BJA Advisory Board met to hear

recommendations for the expenditure of FY04 funds.
Analysis
The board unanimously voted to approve the attached projects from Muscogee

County School District, Muscogee County Sheriff's Office, Columbus Police

Department, Columbus Fire Department, Columbus Drug Court, and Children's Tree

House.
Financial Considerations
The attached resolution will authorize the acceptance of the grant of $81,658

with a 10% match of $9,073 and amend the budget by increasing the

Multi-Governmental Fund 216 by $90,731.

Legal Considerations
As required by the grant the BJA/LLEG Advisory Board approve the allocation of

funds, a public hearing is being held to discuss the allocation of funds.
