Recommendation
Approve the attached resolution declaring the property as surplus and \n \n authorizing the City Manager to dispose of said property identified as Tax Map \n \n Parcel 050 030 006 and 050 031 014 a/k/a 2809 and 2931 Baldwin Street, \n \n Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, (see attached map).

Background
The property has been in the possession of the City since 1986 and 1993

respectively. The property is currently vacant.
Analysis
The property consist of 6,650 +/- Sq. Ft. (both parcels of property). The

subject property is Zoned R-4.
Financial Considerations
The appraised Fair Market Value of the property is $ 7,600.00 for both

parcels of property. A Quit Claim Deed will transfer the property.

Legal Considerations
Council must approve the sale of real estate and newspaper notices will be

published in accordance with Columbus Charter Section 7-501.
Recommendations/ Actions
Approve the attached Resolution declaring said property as surplus and

authorizing the sale of above-identified property.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DECLARING THE PROPERTIES AS SURPLUS AND

AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SELL PROPERTIES IDENTIFIED AS 2809 BALDWIN

STREET A/K/A TAX MAP PARCEL 050 030 006 AND 2931 BALDWIN STREET A/K/A 050 031

014, COLUMBUS, MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GEORGIA.



WHEREAS, the properties came into the ownership of the City of Columbus in 1986

and 1993 respectively, and the City no longer has any future use or plans for

the property; and,



WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Consolidated Government of Columbus,

Georgia to sell the property as surplus; and,



WHEREAS, the property consist of 6,650 +/- Sq. Ft. (both parcels of property).

The subject property is Zoned R-4; and,



WHEREAS, the properties will be advertised at Fair Market Value as determined

by appraisal as $7,600.00 for both parcels of property. A Quit Claim Deed will

transfer the property; and,



WHEREAS, the property will be advertised for sale in accordance with Section

7-501 of the City Code.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY

RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:



That the City Manager is hereby authorized to declare property located at 2809

and 2931 Baldwin Street as surplus and authorize to advertise and sell said

property at fair market value.



Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held

the _________day of _____________, and adopted at said meeting by the

affirmative vote of _____________members of said Council.
