Approve ordinance enacting a "No Parking Anytime" along the east side of \n \n Blackmon Road, beginning at the south curb of Sonoma Pointe Drive and running \n \n south a distance of 150 feet. Enact a "No Parking Anytime" on School Day along \n \n a the east side of Blackmon Road, beginning at the south curb of Sonoma Pointe \n \n Drive running north a distance of 930 feet.

Background
Blackmon Road Middle School is experiencing problems with vehicles parking on

the east side of Blackmon Road and students and parents crossing Blackmon Road

as Pedestrians. This occurs while vehicles are trying to ingress/egress the

school driveway. This causes an unsafe situation.
Analysis
The Traffic Engineering Division at the request of the Principal of Blackmon

Road Middle School has observed this situation and concurs this practice causes

an unsafe situation for students, parents and other motorist.
Financial Considerations
The cost of installing Official Traffic Control signs will be derived from the

Traffic Engineering Budget.
