Approval is requested to execute a City Right of Way Agreement with the Georgia \n \n Department of Transportation relating to Georgetown Drive/Amber Drive in \n \n Columbus; Project No. PR-8531 (215).

Background
The City has determined the need to improve Amber Drive and Georgetown Drive

for a safer flow of traffic through the school area on Georgetown Drive. The

City has designed and acquired the necessary right of way for this project.
Analysis
The City has asked the DOT to assist the City with additional funding in a form

of a County Contract. Coordination with the DOT has lead us to this point

where this agreement has to be executed to keep the process going.
Financial Considerations
Funds have been provided by SPLOST. Any monies received from the DOT will

lessen the cost the City would have to pay.

Legal Considerations
The City Attorney does not agree with the disclaimer in this agreement.
Recommendations/ Actions
That the Agreement of Right of Way related to Project PR-8531(215) Muscogee

County be entered into and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the same

and subsequent agreements to implement the project with Georgia Department of

Transportation (DOT), for and in behalf of the City.
