Background
A detention basin and nature area was constructed for Sugar Mill Subdivision.

Council accepted the streets on January 15, 2002 and May 6, 2003 respectively.

The Owner has maintained the basin since its construction. The detention basin

has been improved and meets the required specifications for acceptance by the

City.
Analysis
A deed has been submitted conveying to the City of Columbus the 4.0 acre (more

or less) detention basin and nature area located in Sugar Mill Subdivision.

Description of the property is as follows: "All that tract or parcel of land

situate, lying and being in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and being known

and designated as 'DETENTION BASIN' and 'NATURE AREA' containing 4.0 acres,

more or less, as said tract or parcel is shown upon a map or plat entitled

'SURVEY OF PART OF LAND LOT 3, 9TH DISTRICT, COLUMBUS, prepared by Moon, Meeks,

Mason & Vinson, Inc. and recorded in Plat Book 149, folio 94 in the Office of

the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia, and to which map

or plat reference is hereby made for a more particular description of the tract

or parcel hereby conveyed".
Financial Considerations
No City funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two-year

warranty expires.

Legal Considerations
In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all dedicated

right-of-ways must be accepted by written resolution of Council.
Recommendations/ Actions
Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to the 4.0 acre, more or less,

detention basin and nature area located in Sugar Mill Subdivision.
