Background

The Greater Columbus Sports & Events Council, Inc.?s mission is to foster

economic development in the City of Columbus through the recruitment and

facilitation of local sporting events, the promotion of healthy lifestyles and

the support of recreational facilities in the community. There are eight (8)

fields at South Commons Softball Complex and will receive a new scoreboard on

each field;



In an effort to help with recruitment of sports and recreational events in

Columbus, the Sports Council through a partnership with the Parks and

Recreation Department sees the need to improve city facilities in order to

attract major events;

Analysis

Towards that, Columbus Sports Council has requested to make a donation to the

Parks and Recreation Department of eight (8) scoreboards for South Commons

Softball Complex.

Financial Considerations

This will be at no cost to the City as it is a donation.

None is expected.

Legal Considerations

Council must approve the acceptance of this donation.
