Background
AFLAC Parkway located in Corporate Ridge Industrial Park, has been improved and

meets the required specifications for acceptance by the City. The street was

constructed during 2000-2001 with funding Aid from the State as part of an

economic development project with intent to convey to the City upon completion.

Due to further development in the area the street acceptance was delayed until

this time.
Analysis
A deed has been submitted conveying to the City AFLAC Parkway located in

Corporate Ridge Industrial Park. Description of property is as follows: All

that lot, tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in Columbus,

Muscogee County, Georgia, designated as "All of lot 16B, 8.5 Acres, being the

right of way of AFLAC Parkway, as shown upon a map or plat entitled "Replat

Lots 16A, 16B, & 16C, Lying within Land Lots 39, 40, 41, 57 & 58, 9th Land

District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia", prepared for Development

Authority of Columbus, Georgia, dated March 20, 2001, and recorded in Plat Book

143, Page 85, in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County,

Georgia, said plat being made a part hereof and incorporated herein by

reference.
Financial Considerations
The street has been in existence since 2001 therefore no bond will be required.

The City will take over the maintenance responsibility of the street when

accepted.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement
Any repairs to the street and or traffic control signage will be paid for from

the Engineering Department's Operating budget.
Legal Considerations
In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all dedicated

right-of-ways must be accepted by written resolution of Council.
Recommendations/ Actions
Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to that portion of AFLAC Parkway from

noted line L45 and L46 running north to Cargo Drive as shown on plat "Replat of

Lots 16A, 16B & 16C Road, dated 03/20/2001 recorded in Plat Book 143 page 85,

located in Corporate Ridge Industrial Park.
