Background
The Newton D. Baker Village housing project is being revitalized into a new

housing development similar to the Ashley Station complex formerly known as

Peabody Housing project off of Talbotton Road. The Housing Authority requested

that the existing streets and rights-of-way be declared surplus and quit

claimed to them. They in return, will deed to the City the new streets and

rights-of-way after the revitalization project is complete.
Analysis
The Baker Village development currently has the following streets within this

complex: Singleton Avenue, Pinta Drive, Circle Drive and Bilbo Drive which

consists of 1.98 acres of right-of-way. The proposed new streets will include

about 3.11 acres of right-of-way. Hence, the City will accept approximately

1.13 more acres of new street improvements and rights-of-way than we have

today.
Financial Considerations
The City will not incur any expenses in this property exchange.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement
Legal Considerations
This action requires Council approval.
