Background
Both detention ponds were constructed for Farrwoods Cove Subdivision. The owner
has maintained the ponds since their construction for the period of at least 2
years.
Analysis
A deed has been submitted conveying to the City of Columbus two (2) detention
ponds located in Section One Farrwoods Cove. Description of the properties is
as follows: A tract or parcel of land lying in Section One Farrwoods Cove,
lying in Land Lot 126, Coweta Reserve, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, as
shown upon a plat of survey prepared by Bobby R. Hobbs, R.L.S. GA Reg. No.
1610, recorded in Plat Book 136, Folio 1A, and A tract or parcel of land lying
in Section One Farrwoods Cove, lying in Land Lot 126, Coweta Reserve, Columbus,
Muscogee County, Georgia, as shown upon a plat of survey prepared by Hobbs
Smith & Associates, Inc., dated March 3, 1998, recorded in Plat Book 136, Folio
1B, in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County.
Financial Considerations
The owner has maintained the pond since its construction for the period of at
least 2 years therefore the City will be responsible for maintaining Parcel One
Detention Pond Lot (136/1A) and Parcel Two Detention Pond Lot (136/1B) located
in Section One Farrwoods Cove.

Legal Considerations
In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all dedicated
right-of-ways must be accepted by written resolution by Council.

Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to Parcel One Detention Pond Lot
(136/1A) and Parcel Two Detention Pond Lot (136/1B) located in Section One
Farrwoods Cove.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO PARCEL ONE DETENTION POND
LOT (136/1A) AND PARCEL TWO DETENTION POND LOT (136/1B) LOCATED IN SECTION ONE,
FARRWOODS COVE ON THE BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, the City has been submitted a deed conveying two detention ponds
located in Section One, Farrwoods Cove, a full description of said property
being shown in said deed; and,
WHEREAS, said Detention Ponds have been completed and meet the required
specifications; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said Detention Ponds and
recommends acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated the 19th day of March, 2008, conveying to
Columbus, Georgia, all of Parcel One Detention Pond Lot (136/1A) and Parcel Two
Detention Pond Lot (136/1B) located in Section One, Farrwoods Cove, be and the
same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said
deed recorded in the deed records in the Office of The Superior Court of
Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of said deed is hereto attached and by this
reference made a part of this Resolution.
