Recommendation

Approval is requested to submit a grant application and if approved, accept \n \n funds from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for the operation of the \n \n Muscogee County Juvenile Drug Court and amend the Multi-Governmental Fund by \n \n the amount of the grant award. The grant period is from July 1, 2013 to June \n \n 30, 2014.

Background

The State of Georgia has funds available to fund Accountability Courts through

the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council.

Analysis

The Muscogee County Juvenile Drug Court is requesting funds to fund grant

funded positions including the Juvenile Drug Court Coordinator position.

Financial Considerations

The City is not required to provide matching funds to participate in this grant

program.

Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement

There will be no additional expenses and no match requirements.

Legal Considerations

The Columbus Consolidated Government is eligible to apply for funds from the

Criminal Justice Coordinating Council.

Recommendations/ Actions

Authorize to submit an application and if approved accept a grant from the

Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for the operation of the Muscogee County

Juvenile Drug Court from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014 and to amend the

Multi-governmental Fund by the amount of the grant award.
