Background

The Integral Group, the developer of Ashley Station, has requested Midland

Avenue be changed to Ashley Station Boulevard. Midland Avenue is currently a

short section of a street on both sides of Talbotton Road. The Integral Group

has contacted all adjoining property owners and they concur with the street

name change.

Analysis

In order to be consistent and prevent a name change along the roadway, it is

recommended Midland Avenue be changed to Ashley Station Boulevard. None of the

adjoining property owners have a Midland Avenue address.

Financial Considerations

Street name and traffic control signs are still being installed in this

development by the developer. The new street name signs will be installed by

the developer within Ashley Station. Funds from the Traffic Engineering's

Budget will be used to install new street signs to reflect the name change

outside the development.

Council must pass an ordinance approving the name change.
