It is recommended that Columbus City Council vote unanamously to resolve to \n \n adopt the Donated Goods and Volunteer Management Framework as a valid and \n \n recognized emergency plan for the Columbus Consolidated Government, City of \n \n Columbus, GA.

Background
The Georgia Emergency Management Agency with the encouragement of the Federal

Emergency Management Agency recommends to all local jurisdictions to prepare,

publish and adopt emergency plans so that local jurisdictions will be better

prepared to provide necessary emergency services and assistance to it's

citizens in the event of emergency or disaster.
Analysis
This plan provides for the efficient intake, inventory and re-distribution of

donated goods to the citizens of Columbus, GA in the event of a major emergency

or disaster. It further provides guidance on how to inprocess and deploy

volunteers toward necessary functions should volunteers present to

assist.during times of emergency or disaster.
Financial Considerations
There is no cost to the jurisdiction to adopt this plan.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement
There are no projected costs to the City for the adoption of this plan nor for

the projected future.
Legal Considerations
This plan has been reviewed by the City Attorney.
