Background
The FAA is proposing to install a Lower Level Windshear Alert Sensor (LLWAS)

facility serving the Columbus Metropolitan Airport, in Columbus, Georgia.

LLWAS measures wind bursts at ground level and transmits the information to the

traffic controllers in the Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT). The controllers

then transmits LLWAS information to incoming pilots.
Analysis
The LLWAS facility is to be used for the safety of the general flying public

and will require approximately a 400 square foot (20' x 20') +/- site with an

access easement on Labon Drive.
Financial Considerations
The 400 square foot (20' x 20') site will be transferred to the Federal

Aviation Administration at no cost with a reversionary clause stating "that if

the property is not longer need for a LLWAS, the property will revert back to

the City."
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement
Legal Considerations
Council is the approving authority for the transfer of property.
Recommendations/ Actions
Approve the attached Resolution authorizing the transfer at no cost, with a

reversionary clause a 400 square foot (20' x 20') site on Labon Drive to the
