Background

The Columbus Consolidated Government is the official repository for various
federal, state and local records. Many of these records require permanent
retention and maintenance.

Analysis

A thorough study of the records center is necessary to ensure that adequate
measures are taken to protect the records ranging from 1818 through the
present. In addition, placement of procedures online will insure that records
are transferred more accurately, thereby increasing the efficiency of the
records management program.

Financial Considerations

The grant amount requested is $2,571.00 for the City Manager's Office. The
City is required to provide 25% in-kind service to participate in this grant.
