Approve an ordinance enacting a "No Parking Anytime" on the east curb of \n \n Phillips Street beginning at Levy Road running southerly approximately 660 \n \n feet. Enacting a "No Parking Anytime" on the west curb of Commerce Street \n \n beginning approximately 310 feet from Levy Road running southerly approximately \n \n 100 feet. Enacting a "No Parking Anytime" on the east curb of Commerce Street \n \n beginning approximately 120 feet from Levy Road running southerly approximately \n \n 236 feet.

Background
The Traffic Engineering Division has received a request to enact parking

restrictions along Phillips Street and Commerce Street. An investigation

reveals that when vehicles are parked on both sides of the street,

tractor-trailers are not able to access the loading docks or make the turn out

of the loading dock areas.
Analysis
The Traffic Engineering Division surveyed eight (8) property owners that adjoin

the proposed restricted area. There was three response in favor of the parking

restriction and no other responses submitted. Two (2) of the property owners

which submitted responses have off street parking, the other does not.
Financial Considerations
The cost of installing Official Traffic Control signs will be derived from the

Traffic Engineering operating budget.

All ordinances require the approval of Council.
Recommendations/ Actions
Approve the ordinance enacting a "No Parking Anytime" on the east curb of

Phillips Street beginning at Levy Road running southerly approximately 660

feet. Enacting a "No Parking Anytime" on the west curb of Commerce Street

beginning approximately 310 feet from Levy Road running southerly approximately

100 feet. Enacting a "No Parking Anytime" on the east curb of Commerce Street

beginning approximately 120 feet from Levy Road running approximately 236 feet.
