Approval is requested to execute a Certificate of Ownership and Agreement \n \n document with the Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT).

Background
-
The DOT has agreed to provide an Enhancement Project to re-stripe certain
selected of roads in Muscogee County (attached).

Analysis

The DOT has requested the City sign the above referenced Agreement. The DOT
has to receive the document before they put it out for bid.

Financial Considerations
-
There is no funding required by the City. The City agrees to provide for
proper maintenance after completion of the project,, as it does for all
projects.

Legal Considerations

The City Attorney disagrees with the indemnification paragraph, but understands
that the DOT will not change the paragraph; therefore, to participate in this
program, the City has to accept it as does every government entity, state
-wide.

Recommendations/ Actions

Approve the resolution authorizing the execution of the Certificate of
ownership and Agreement and subsequent agreements necessary to implement this
project.
