Approval is hereby requested to establish a "No Parking - Anytime" ordinance on \n \n both the north and south edges of Highland Pines Dr, beginning at Fortson Rd \n \n and running westerly for 240 feet, which is to the east property lines of 2906 \n \n and 2909 Highland Pines Dr.

Background
Persons have been parking their cars and trailers along Highland Pines Dr near

its intersection with Fortson Rd. The purpose of this "No Parking - Any Time "

zone is to improve safety of the motorist and pedestrians along this narrow

roadway in response to a CitiLink request.
Analysis
The proposed parking restriction will affect the pedestrians and motorists on

Highland Pines Dr who are in conflict with each other. The improvement in terms

of traffic safety along Highland Pines Dr will offset any inconvenience caused

to homeowners along the roadway. A parking survey resulted in two persons

agreeing with the provision and one person opposed to it
Financial Considerations
The cost of "No Parking - Anytime" signs would be approximately $125.00 each

and will be charged to the Traffic Engineering Division Operating Budget.

Legal Considerations
All No Parking ordinances require approval by Council.
