Background
-
The intent and purpose of this Quit Claim Deed is to correct the description of
that portion of property that was previously conveyed to the Grantee's
predecessor in title, J.W. Woodruff, Jr., by Columbus, Georgia, pursuant to
that certain indenture dated August 18, 1975, and recorded in Deed Book 1564,
page 54 (see attachment), in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court. The
Quit Claim was authorized by Resolution 308-75.

Analysis
-
The corrective action of the proposed Quit Claim will correct the distances of
two of the boundaries (8.4 feet discrepancy along the railroad and 2.5 feet
discrepancy along the alley) as reflected on Plat Book 159, page 15 (see
attachment). The action will correct and re-establish the boundaries of the
property. The property description on the original Quit Claim will be
corrected to reflect Plat Book 159, page 15.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CORRECTIVE QUIT CLAIM DEED TO
WERNER W. BLUDAU FOR PROPERTY IDENTIFIED AS "PARCEL 100, 0.8770 AC." AND PARCEL
101, 0.2924 AC" , A PORTION OF 407 BROADWAY, IN COLUMBUS, MUSCOGEE COUNTY,
GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, the corrective action will correct the distances of two of the
boundaries as reflected on Plat Book 159, page 15 correct and re-establish the
boundaries of the property; and,
WHEREAS, the intent and purpose of this Quit Claim Deed is to correct the
description to reflect the corrected distances; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest for the Columbus Consolidated Government to
correct the Quit Claim Deed.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a corrective Quit Claim
Deed to Werner W. Bludau to correct the description on property identified as
"Parcel 100, 0.8770 AC." and "Parcel 101, 0.2924 AC.", a portion of 407
Broadway. A copy of said Quit Claim Deed is attached hereto and by reference
made a part of this Resolution.
