The alley 0.0972 acres +/- a distinct of \n \n 24.29' +/- x 174.79' +/- located at the rear and side of 2620 Buena Vista Road \n \n and 748 and 748A Lawyers Lane a/k/a Tax Maps 050 039 001, 009 and 010 to make \n \n an addition to their parking lot (see attached letter and map).

Background
The property owner is requesting that the City execute a Quit Claim Deed for
all rights, title and interest the City may have in the above described alley.
The Church future use includes an expansion of their parking lot. Both 748 and
748A Lawyers Lane have now been combined to make one property.
Analysis
The alley is located along the intersection of the existing northwestern right
of way line of Cusseta Road with the southwestern side of 20th Avenue on Tax
Map 050 in Columbus, Georgia. Written confirmation has been received from all
public utilities stating there are no active utilities located in this alley.
The Engineering, Public Services and other City Departments have examined the
alley and have no objections to the abandonment.
Financial Considerations
No City funds will be expended.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A QUIT CLAIM DEED TO WYNNTON HILL
BAPTIST CHURCH, INC., FOR THE ALLEY PORTION OF THE 0.0972 ACRES +/- LOCATED AT
THE REAR AND SIDE OF 2620 BUENA VISTA ROAD AND 748 AND 748A LAWYERS LANE A/K/A
TAX MAPS 050 039 001, 009 AND 010.
WHEREAS, there is a 0.0972 acres+/- alley located at the rear and side of 2620
Buena Vista Road and 748 and 748A Lawyers Lane with Wynnton Hill Baptist
Church, Inc.requesting the alley be abandonment, and;
WHEREAS, 748 and 748A Lawyers Lane has now been combined as one property, and;
WHEREAS, the City has no present or future use of said portions of the alley,
and;
WHEREAS, the Engineering, Public Services and other interested Departments have
reviewed the abandonment of the alley and approves same, and;
WHEREAS, the City has no present or future use of said portions of the
alley.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Quit Claim Deed to
Wynnton Hill Baptist Church, Inc. for the 0.0972 +/- acres alley located at the
rear and side of 2620 Buena Vista Road and 748 and 748A Lawyers Lane a/k/a Tax
Maps 050 039 001, 009 and 010. The alley will make an addition to parking lot
portions of Wynnton Hill Baptist Church, Inc., which is hereby abandoned. A
copy of said Quit Claim Deed is also hereto attached and by reference made a
part of this Resolution.
