Background

Georgia Power has established a template agreement for the cities and counties

across Georgia who frequently have a need to attach equipment to poles owned by

the Georgia Power Company. Execution of this agreement would allow the staff

to make application for attachment of City owned wires, cables, equipment,

etc. to poles owned by Georgia Power Company. One such project is the City

Fiber Interconnect Project. This agreement has been reviewed and accepted by

GMA and ACCG.

Analysis

The agreement is required in order to attach any devices to poles owned by the

Georgia Power Company.

Financial Considerations

Cost are determined on a case by case basis depending on the work required.

Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement

Cost will be included as part of the operations budget for the Traffic

Engineering Division or as part of project budgets.

Legal Considerations

Council must approved all formal agreements.
