Background
Parcel A is currently owned by the City. Parcel B is owned by the developer and

was improved as public streets. Parcel C was reserved for public right of way

but never improved or deeded to the City. Winifred Lane and Olivia Lane has

thirty-six (36) residential lots. The streets have been improved and meet the

required specifications for acceptance by the City.
Analysis
Upon acceptance of parcels as City streets the subdivision plat will be

re-recorded showing complete right of way widths for Winifred Lane and Olivia

Lane. A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Winifred Lane and Olivia

Lane located in Sarahland Subdivision. A description of the property is as

follows: All that lot, tract or parcel of land lying and being in the City of

Columbus, County of Muscogee and being known and described as Parcels "B" and

"C" as shown upon a map or plat entitled "Right of Way survey of Sarahland

Subdivision" Dated January 28, 2008 prepared by Barrett-Simpson, Inc., and

recorded in Plat Book 161, page 74, in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior

Court of Muscogee County, Georgia to which reference is made for the specific

location and dimensions of said property.
Financial Considerations
No City funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two-year

warranty.

Legal Considerations
In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all dedicated

right-of-way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendations/ Actions
Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to Winifred Lane and Olivia Lane

located in Sarahland Subdivision.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO WINIFRED LANE AND

OLIVIA LANE LOCATED IN SARAHLAND SUBDIVISION, ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Winifred

Lane and Olivia Lane located in Sarahland Subdivision, a full description of

property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, Parcel "A" is currently owned by the City and is designated as

a portion of Winifred Lane; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required

specifications for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said streets and

recommends acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY

RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated February 4, 2008, conveying to Columbus,

Georgia, Winifred Lane and Olivia Lane located in Sarahland Subdivision be an

the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have

said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Clerk of Superior

Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of deed is hereto attached and by

this reference made a part of this resolution.
