Background
Freedom Ridge Court, that portion of Freedom Ridge Drive, that portion of
Lexington Lane and that portion of Sand Hill Drive located in Section Three,
Lexington Hills has thirty-one (31) residential lots. The streets have been
improved and have met the specifications for acceptance by the City.
Analysis
A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Freedom Ridge Court, that
portion of Freedom Ridge Drive, that portion of Lexington Lane and that portion
of Sand Hill Drive located in Section Three, Lexington Hills. A description of
the property is as follows: All those lots, tracts and parcels of land lying
and being in Land Lot 4 of the 7th District, Columbus, Muscogee County,
Georgia, and shown as all of Lexington Lane, Sand Hill Drive, Freedom Ridge
Court and extension of Freedom Ridge Drive as said roads and public
rights-of-way are shown on the map or plat entitled "Section Three, Lexington
Hills, Part of Land Lot 4, 7th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia",
prepared by Hobbs Smith & Associates, Inc., dated March 27, 2007, said plat
recorded in Plat Book 160, page 1, in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court
of Muscogee County, Georgia.
Financial Considerations
No City funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two-year
warranty.

In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all dedicated
right-of-way must be accepted by the Council.

A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO FREEDOM RIDGE COURT, THAT
PORTION OF FREEDOM RIDGE DRIVE, THAT PORTION OF LEXINGTON LANE AND THAT PORTION
OF SAND HILL DRIVE LOCATED IN SECTION THREE, LEXINGTON HILLS ON BEHALF OF
COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Freedom Ridge
Court, that portion of Freedom Ridge Drive, that portion of Lexington Lane and
that portion of Sand Hill Drive located in Section Three, Lexington Hills, a
full description of property on said deed; and,
WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required specifications
for acceptance by the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends
acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated March 24, 2008, conveying to Columbus, Georgia,
Freedom Ridge Court, that portion of Freedom Ridge Drive, that portion of
Lexington Lane and that portion of Sand Hill Drive located in Section Three,
Lexington Hills, be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is
hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office
of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of deed is
hereto attached and by this reference made a part of this resolution.
