Approval
Approved
Background
The Baker Village revitalization project is relocating and redesigning the

streets to be dedicated to the City. Since these streets are located within

the boundaries of the Baker Village project, the new design incorporates

several Traffic Calming features. These include narrow streets with on street

parking, raised crosswalks/speed tables and roundabouts.
Analysis
This development encourages pedestrian traffic for which speeds need to be

controlled thru street design. The Engineering Department recommends approval

of a reduced curve radius for the purpose of Traffic Calming.
Financial Considerations
The roadway construction is part of the developmental cost paid by the Housing

Authority.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement
Legal Considerations
A variance for street design requires Council approval.
Recommendations/ Actions
Approved a variance for Baker Village street design to allow a 150 foot radius

for a horizontal curve for the loop road.
