Background

The Rotary Clubs of Columbus received funding to enhance the amenities at

Rotary Park which bears the organization?s name. The project would include the

following: Muscogee Rotary to upgrade signage; North Columbus Rotary to add

five (5) BBQ grills; and Rotary Club of Columbus to install exercise equipment.

Columbus Parks and Recreation Department supports the Rotary Clubs of Columbus

desire to enhance the amenities and quality of life at Rotary Park.

Analysis

The participating Clubs and Columbus Parks and Recreation are aware of the

future plans for a Rowing Center at Rotary Park; therefore all plans and work

will be vetted through Deputy City Manager David Arrington to ensure

communication and collaboration among all involved in this project. .

Financial Considerations

The Rotary Clubs of Columbus, Georgia will fund all amenity enhancements at

Rotary Park. The City will not be required to fund any part of the project.

Legal Considerations

Council must approve the acceptance of this donation.
