Background

The Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) is finalizing construction plans

for the widening of Whittlesey Road. Since there is road construction and a

traffic signal interconnect (ATMS) cable crossing the railroad right-of-way, a

formal agreement is required between all three parties.

Analysis

The execution of this agreement is required to keep this project on track for

construction.

Financial Considerations

Both the ATMS cabling and the construction of the new railroad crossing

($127,455.00) is funded by the DOT as part of this project. The Traffic

Engineering Division will be responsible for maintaining the ATMS cabling as

part of the traffic signal system.

Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement

Any future maintenance costs for the ATMS cable will be incurred by the Traffic

Engineering Division's budget.

Legal Considerations

All agreements require the City Council's approval.
