Approval is requested to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOU) with the \n \n Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and the National Infantry \n \n Foundation for Preliminary Engineering Actiivities for the new National \n \n Infantry Museum.

Background
The National Infantry Foundation has received federal funding for the

development of the National Infantry Museum. The funding will be managed by

the GDOT, and by state law can only be administered to a local government.
Analysis
The funds will be used by the Foundation to help develop the hardscape areas

around the museum (parking, landscaping, etc.). In order to receive these

funds, the City must agree to receive and administer these funds. In turn, the

City will enter into a MOU with the Foundation, that outlines their duties and

responsibilities in receiving these funds from the City.
Financial Considerations
The National Infantry Foundation will receive $5,400,000 in federal funds. The

Foundation is responsibile for providing the required match of $1,350,000 for

this grant program.

Legal Considerations
The MOU's establish the requirements and obligations for receiving these

funds. Both MOU's have been reviewed by the City Attorney's office
