Recommendation
Approval is requested to submit a grant application and if awarded, accept \n \n funds up to $750,000 from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for the \n \n operation of the Muscogee County Juvenile Court and amend the \n \n Multi-Governmental Fund by the amount of the grant award. The grant period is \n \n from July 1, 2019 to July 30, 2020.

Background
Funds have been appropriated to the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for

the purpose of providing Functional Family Therapy and Multi-Systemic Therapy

an evidence-based community programs to serve youth who would otherwise be

committed the Department of Juvenile Justice and/or sent to a short-term

secured facility.
Analysis
Muscogee County Juvenile Court is requesting funds to provide evidence-based

treatment and surveillance to juvenile offenders
Financial Considerations
The City is not required to provide matching funds to participate in this grant

program.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement
There will be no additional expenses and no match requirements.
Legal Considerations
The Columbus Consolidated Government is eligible to apply for funds up to

$750,000 from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council.
Recommendations/ Actions
Authorize to submit an application and if granted, accept a grant from the

Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for continued evidence based programming

for the Muscogee County Juvenile Court from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020,

amend the Multi-Governmental Fund by the amount of the grant award.
