Background
Funds have been allocated to the State of Georgia to improve the Juvenile

Justice System in Georgia. Columbus is eligible for an additional $7,500.00

for FY 07-08.
Analysis
The funds will be used for pre and post dispositional psychologicals. The

grant period begins October 1, 2007 through September 30, 2008.
Financial Considerations
The additional funds for $7,500.00 with no matching funds. Funds will be used

to provide services for youth referred to Juvenile Court.

The Columbus Consolidated Government is eligible to enter into a contract with

the Judicial Council of Georgia for the funding of this proposed grant

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AND IF AWARDED ACCEPT

ADDITIONAL FUNDING FROM THE COUNCIL OF JUVENILE COURT JUDGES WITH NO LOCAL

MATCH REQUIREMENT OF $7,500.00, AND TO AMEND THE MULTI-GOVERNMENTAL FUND BY THE

APPLICABLE AMOUNT.

WHEREAS, additional funds have been made available from the Office of the

Council of Juvenile Court Judges for improving the juvenile justice system and

providing services for juvenile offenders; and,

WHEREAS, Columbus is eligible for an additional $7,500.00; and,

WHEREAS, the grant period runs from October 1, 2007 to September 30, 2008.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY

RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit and application

and if approved accept additional funds from the Council of Juvenile Judges of

Georgia for $7,500.00 to fund the Columbus/Muscogee Juvenile Court Purchase of

Services for Juvenile Offenders Program, and to amend the Multi-Governmental

Fund by the amount of the additional funds awarded.
