Background
The Development Authority wishes to transfer Tax Map 117 001 007, Parcel 4C
(33.13 AC.+/-) of the Muscogee Technology Park lying in land lots 88 & 105, 9th
district to the City of Columbus. It has been determined that Parcel 4C is
undevelopable for industrial uses. The transfer of the property will allow the
City to construct a proposed composite site to dispose of inert waste. It has
been determined that the acceptance of this property would be in the best
interest of the City.
Analysis
The Development Authority will transfer Tax Map 117 001 007 Parcel 4C (33.13
AC.+/-) of the Muscogee Technology Park to the City of Columbus. The transfer
of the property will allow the City to construct a proposed composite site to
dispose of inert waste.
Financial Considerations
The Development Authority will transfer and the City will accept the property
to be transferred by Limited Warranty Deed, with all encumbrances and liens
being paid by the Development Authority. The City will pay all legal expenses.

Council must approve acceptance of property in accordance with Columbus
Charter.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A TRANSFER OF PROPERTY IN THE
MUSCOGEE TECHNOLOGY PARK LYING IN LAND LOTS 88 & 105, 9TH DISTRICT KNOWN AS TAX
MAP 117 001 007 (PARCEL 4C), 33.18 +/-ACRES, FROM THE DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF
COLUMBUS, GEORGIA TO THE CITY OF COLUMBUS.
WHEREAS, it has been determined that Parcel 4C is undevelopable for
industrial uses; and,
WHEREAS, the above described property has been identified as a proposed
composite site to dispose of inert waste; and,
WHEREAS, the property is available for transfer from the Development Authority
of Columbus, Georgia to the City of Columbus; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Consolidated Government of
Columbus, Georgia to accept the transfer of the property.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to:
1. Accept transfer of the property identified as Tax Map 117 001 007
(Parcel 4C), 33.18 +/-acres, from the Development Authority to the City of
Columbus; and,
2. File the Warranty Deed with Superior Court Clerk for permanent
record.
