Background

Orchard Lakes Way, Orchard Valley Lane and that portion of East Lake Drive

located in Orchard Phase Ten, Garrett Creek has forty-nine residential lots.

The streets have been improved and meet the required specifications for

acceptance by the City.

Analysis

A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Orchard Lakes Way, Orchard

Valley Lane and that portion of East Lake Drive located in Orchard Phase Ten,

Garrett Creek. A description of the property is as follows: All those lots,

tracts and parcels of land lying and being in Land Lots 129 & 160, of the 9th

District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and shown as Orchard Valley Lane

and Orchard Lakes Way and extension of East Lake Drive as said roads and

rights-of-way are shown on the map or plat entitled "Garrett Creek Subdivision,

Orchard Phase Ten, Land Lots 129 & 160, 9th Land District, Columbus, Muscogee

County, Georgia" prepared by Hobbs, Smith & Associates, Inc., dated February

24, 2006, said plat recorded in Plat Book 156, page 112, in the Office of the

Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.

Financial Considerations

No City funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two-year

warranty expires.

Legal Considerations

In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all dedicated

right-of-ways must be accepted by Council.

Recommendations/ Actions

Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to Orchard Lakes Way, Orchard Valley

Lane and that portion of East Lake Drive located in Orchard Phase Ten, Garrett

Creek.
