Background

The Department of Engineering and the Columbus Police Department have received

numerous complaints related to the trucking contractor servicing one of the

businesses on Chattsworth Ct parking along the roadway and making it difficult

for the businesses to operate. The parked trucks restrict visibility and

access to the businesses. Several attempts have been made to resolve the issue

between the businesses but have been unsuccessful. This has also been

coordinated with the Chamber of Commerce Development Authority since it lies

within Muscogee Technology Park.

Analysis

A "No Parking Anytime" zone is needed along both sides of Chattsworth Ct to

retain proper sight distance and access.

Financial Considerations

All costs to fabricate and install the "No Parking Anytime" signs shall come

from the Traffic Engineering Division's Operating Budget.

Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement

All cost to repair/replace vandalized or damaged signs shall come from the

Traffic Engineering Division's Operating Budget.

Legal Considerations

All traffic ordinances require Council approval.
