Background
Mitown Drive and portions of Citizens Way were developed as part of the City

Service Complex and in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding with the

Muscogee County School District.
Analysis
Plats and deeds are currently being prepared for transfer of portions of

property currently owned by the Muscogee County School District and Library.

In order to get adresses assigned for the new City Service Center, Natatorium

and parking garage, the streets should be officially accepted by Council for

adding to the tax maps. Notices for the move of several departments need to

be posted and business documents, i.e. letterhead, business cards, etc. need to

be ordered. Upon approval by Council, the transfer of property will be taken

to the Muscogee County School Board for approval. Coordination was made with

all departments moving to the new facilities along with Public Safety. It was

decided in order to prevent confusion with the two existing structures, MCSD

Adminstration Building and Public Library fronting on Macon Road, the access

drive should be designated as a public street and given a unique name common to

all of the public facilities. The official addresses will be 3111 Citizens Way

for the City Services Center and 1601 Midtown Drive for the Natatorium and

Parking Garage.
Financial Considerations
The extension of Midtown Drive and portions of the proposed Citizens Way were

constructed as part of the City Services Center complex.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement
Maintenance will be assumed by the City.
Legal Considerations
In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all dedicated

right-of-way must be accepted by Council.
