To
Mayor and Council
Subject
Donations to Britt David Pottery Studio
Initiator
Parks and Recreation
Recommendation
Approval is requested to accept any and all donations given to Britt David \n \n Pottery Studio in memory of John Dodson
Approval
Pending
Background
Mr. Dodson worked for Columbus Parks and Recreation in the early 1970?s and

helped found and manage the Britt David Pottery Studio. Mr. Dodson recently

passed away and his and the family?s bequest was to name Britt David Pottery

Studio as a place they would like donations to go to fund classes for young

people who cannot afford them.

We would like to be able to accept these donations and offer classes as the

need to do so arises. We often have students who want to take classes at Britt

David Studio, but do not have the means to do so. Mr. Dodson is known for

introducing this craft to many children and we would be honoring his memory by

continuing this tradition.

Analysis
Parks and Recreation is requesting to receive donations to the Britt David

Pottery Studio.
Financial Considerations
This will be at no cost to the City as it is a private donation.

Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement
None is expected
Legal Considerations
Council is the approving authority for all resolutions.

Recommendations/ Actions
