Approval is requested to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with \n \n the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) , for the acceptance of \n \n Transportation Enhancement funds for the Chattahoochee Riverwalk, between 13th \n \n and 14th Streets.

Background
GDOT has awarded the Columbus Consolidated Government $800,000 in grant monies

from its Transportation Enhancement program. The funds are to be used to

construct the Riverwalk from 13th Street to 14th Street.
Analysis
The construction of this section of the Riverwalk is an important element to

the overall development of the riverwalk.
Financial Considerations
The acceptance of these Transportation Enhancement grant monies will require a

20 percent match ($160,000). Funding for this match have been identified from

City SPLOST and Capital Improvement Projects.

Legal Considerations
The City will be required to adhere to all legal requirements as established by

the GDOT.
