Background
-
The DOT will assist the City of Columbus, Georgia in a County Contract in
Landscaping 0.66 miles of the North By-Pass (Hwy 80/22) from Chattahoochee
River to River Road, Project PRC10-S009-00(491) (the Project). Muscogee County.

Analysis
-
The City has requested State Aid with the DOT in a County Contract for the
project mentioned above. To participate on the project the City is asked to
execute the attached agreement.

Financial Considerations

The DOT has agreed to pay an estimated amount of $300,000.00 The City will pay
the balance of the Bid amount to be paid out of the Paving Supported Capital
Fund.

Legal Considerations

The City Attorney disagrees with the indemnification paragraph, but understands
that the DOT will not change the paragraph; therefore , to participate in this
program, the City has to accept it, as does every government entity,
state-wide.

Recommendations/ Actions

Approve the resolution authorizing the City Right of Way Agreement and
subsequent agreements necessary to implement this project.
